Publication Rules and Regs

I – Reading Logs

A.  Weekly reading log due dates will be posted on class calendar,    Homework Hero, and In-Visions.

B.  Weekly reading assignments should be recorded and varied week to week.

                        1. news stories

                        2. editorials

                        3. feature stories

                        4. editorial cartoons

                        5. photos

            B.  Logs are to be kept in the classroom file, Rm. 404.

C.  Logs are to be kept current and handed in for MP A & B grade on due date.

            D.  Logs are not accepted after due date.

 

II – Assignments and due dates for Ms. Kohmuench and Mrs. Quinn will be posted on class calendar, Homework Hero, and In-Visions.

 

III – Absences are the only excuse for missed due dates.

A.     Assignments and information and data for the Lancer Ledger can be emailed to
mkohmuench@lakeland.k12.nj.us or dquinn@lakeland.k12.nj.us.

B.     Assignments and due dates are to be met the day of return to class.

 

IV – Late Policy

A.     Ten points deducted from assignment for each day late.

B.     After five days assignment is worth 50 points at best.

C.     No material will be accepted after the close of MP or mid MP.

D.     LATE PENALTIES ARE ALWAYS ENFORCEABLE.

 

V – The Lancer Ledger

A.     Do not leave any pages scattered in Rm 404 or Rm 412.

B.     Keep all material for page in accordion folder (including layout pages in progress) in Rm 404.

C.     Do not take anything for page or edition out of the classroom.

D.     Layout editors are responsible for entire page and must initial.

E.      Story editors are responsible for final copy, properly saved work for access to page editor, and hard copy initialed and handed to page editor.

F.      Students may not shift responsibility from story editor to page editor when working on an edition.

G.     Students must sign up for page editor or story editor at least once during the semester.

H.     Every student will receive a work grade for their contribution to the edition.

I.        EVERY SIGN-UP IS A CONTRACT FOR RESPONSIBILITY

J.       To receive credit for the Lancer Ledger, you must work on the paper outside of the class.  You must keep a running log of the time you spend on the paper.  A form will be provided for you and you must hand it in to either Ms. Kohmuench or Mrs. Quinn.  Time includes the following:

1.       Taking pictures at events

2.       Interviewing

3.       Working on the paper during your lunch, study hall, and/or after school
