CQ Researcher

http://library.cqpress.com/cqresearcher is a reliable source for information on controversial issues in the news. Each week it focuses on a single issue and provides an overview of the situation, a timeline, a history of the problem, current news and the outlook for the future.  Perhaps the most helpful section is "pro/con" which gives essays on the topic by experts on each side of the debate.  Recent topics include "Factory Farms," "The New Environmentalism," and "Privacy in Peril,"  "Climate Change." Upcoming reports will focus on "Rethinking Foreign Policy" and "Treating Addiction."  Check it out!
